Ernest J. Mercer III, also know as "Chucky", 62 of Charles Street, passed at home on Friday. He was born in Providence, a son of the late Ernest J. Mercer Jr. and Addie (Brouillette) Mercer. Ernest lived in Warren most of his life and has lived in Providence for the last 15 years. He had been employed as a cardiac EMT for Universal Ambulance Co. and also for the Warren Fire Department. He had been previously employed as a stone mason.
He is survived by a son Brian Mercer and a step-son Jeremy Greenberg, both of Johnston. He also leaves a brother, Joseph Mercer of Florida, 2 sisters, Maureen Mercer of Atlanta and Karen Beauschene of Warwick. He also was the uncle of Kristina and Carlene Ricci, Crystal and Drake Martinez, Audrey and Austin Girard and Julia Beauschene. He was the brother of the late Christine Mercer.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, Novenber 11, 2017 at 10 am In St James Episcopal Church 474 Fruit Hill Avenue, North Providence. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
