Elvia Mendoza Granados Obituary

Elvia Mendoza Granados, 70, of Pawtucket, Passed away Sunday at Miriam Hospital in Providence, surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Jose Piedra Cortez. Elvia was born in Los Contreras, Zitacuaro, Michoacan, Mexico, a daughter of the late Alvaro Mendoza and Maria Remedios Granados. She has lived in Rhode Island several years. She is survived by a daughter, Elvira Piedra of Central Falls and eight sons, Rufino Mendoza of Norton, MA, Cuauhtemoc, Pedro, Homero and Carlos Piedra of Pawtucket, Jose Piedra of Central Falls and Hernand Piedra of Mexico. She also leaves four sisters, Elena and Jova Mendoza of California, Rosa and Ermila Mendoza of Mexico, three brothers, Emilio and Avelino Mendoza of California and Otilio Mendoza of Mexico, 19 Grandchildren and 4 Great Grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on SATURDAY at 11 AM in St. John the Baptist Church, Pawtucket. Her Burial will be in Mexico.  Relatives and friends may visit at the Funeral Home from 8:30 prior to the Funeral Mass

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the church.
