Ellamma Shankar

Ellamma Shankar, 79 years of age, passed away unexpectedly at home. She was the wife of the late Shiu Shnkar. She was born in Tau, Fiji, a daughter of the late Annamali and Tannamma Chetty. In her younger years, she had been employed as a nusing assistant for several years. She was devoted to her family, especially her Grandchildren.

She is survived by three sons, Virendra "Vinnie" Shankar of East Providence, Satendra Shankar of California and Dhirendra Shankar of Warwick. She also leaves two sisters, Maya Wati and Chanda Mani, three brothers Adi Mulam Chetty and Ashok Kumar all of Fiji. and  Ajay Kumar of Pawtucket,  and seven Grandchildren.

A Traditional Hindu Funeral Rite will be held, Saturday, MARCH 2, 2019 from 10AM, in the Chapel of Hope & Memory at Swan Point Cemetery, Blackstone Boulevard, Providence, Cremation will follow at 11 AM.
