Michael W. Lynch, 51, of Providence, passed away unexpectedly Thursday. Michael was born in Cranston and was the son of the late Thomas & Joyce M. (Campbell) Lynch. Michael spent much of his childhood in the home of his late Uncle & Aunt, James E. & Lois K. McElroy.
Michael is survived by his son Kyle Lynch of Providence . He also leaves his devoted sister Maureen E. Porecca of Pawtucket and two brothers Robert Lynch of Pawtucket & Sean Lynch of Portsmouth. He was the brother of the late William Lynch. Michael also leaves behind his Niece Jessica and Nephew Anthony Porecca of Cranston. Michael was also the former husband of Barbara Flynn.
Michael worked for many years as a tile setter for Imperial Tile and also worked at The Gold Refinery.
Michael always walked around with a smile on his face and spent time with family and friends and was always eager to lend a helping hand. Growing up Michael was an All Star on the Wanscuck Baseball League. He also loved to go fishing with his cousins, whether it be the McElroys, Reiners or the Waters. He was a proud boy scout and was a communicant of St. Raymond's Church. Michael also had a great love of peanut butter and was affectionately known as The Peanut Butter Bandit.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, July 23, 2016 in St. Raymond's Church, 1240 No. Main Street, Providence, at 11 AM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
