Luis Manuel Diaz-Reyes was born December 13, 1934 in Barahona, Dominican Republic, a son of the late Encarnacion Reyes and Georgina Diaz. In 1958, he met, who would soon become his wife , Luz DeLa Fe Lopez, where he stepped up to raise three children, Eddy, Aura and Elsa Davis and would then have two children, Lourdes Luisa Diaz and Miguel Angel Diaz. In 1974, he migrated to the United States to give his family the American Dream. Luis had served in the Air Force in the Dominican Republic and had been employed as a room service expiditor for Trump Towers in New York City. Charismatic, hard working, respectful, responsible, determined and dedicated are a few words to describe such an honorable man.
Luis Diaz is leaving behind nine Step-Grandchildren, Alexa Davis, Alex Davis, Alisa Davis, Jeffrey Larcier, Katherine Alvarado, Amy Alvarado, Jennifer Larcier, Aldy Davis, Bryant Alvarado; his Grandchildren Edgar Morales, Juan Luis Novoa Angel Israel Dias and Michelle Diaz. Great Grandchildren Gianny Lees Morales and Great Grandchild yet to be born, who will carry on his legacy.
In addition, his siblings, friends, and latest companion, Antonia Cruz will miss him greatly.
Lastly, although, in 54 years he never made it back to the country that birthed him, his friends remember Luis Diaz as a man who believed in putting God first, providing for his family and preotecting his children at all cost. Luis Diaz will be remembered for his strong demeanor, his caring and supportive personality.
A Celebration of his life will be held Saturday afternoon from 2 until 4 PM in the Coelho Funeral Home, Central Falls. Relatives and Friends are invited to attend.
