Herbert L. Morgan, 66, passed away at home in Providence on Friday after a battle with multiple medical complications. He was born in Providence, a son of the late Oscar and Florence (Hall) Morgan. He lived most of his life in the city. Herbert had been employed in the housekeeping departments at Roger Williams Medical Center for several years prior to his illness. He was avid sports fan and enjoyed all sports especially the New York Yankees and the New York Giants. In his earlier years, Herbert played semi-pro football and has been an assistant at the Danforth Recreational Center.
He is survived by three sons, Herbert L. Duclaw of Riverside and Duane M. Duclaw of Pawtucket, Curtis White of Chattanooga, Tn, a daughter Janice M. Jackson of Warwick, a sister Shirley Lee Bridges and brothers, James Lee, Georgie Morgan, Howard Lee, Emmett Lee and Eddie Lee. He was the brother of the late Walter Morgan, the late Robert "pinky" Lee and the late Gracie Lee Upchuch. He also leaves 7 Grandchildren.
He was the former husband of Linda Duclaw Morgan Joseph of Pawtucket and the brother in law of the late Francine Duclaw of Central Falls, who predeceased him February 17th, 2017.
A Gathering of Remembrance will be held WEDNESDAY EVENING from 6 until 8 PM. Donations to the family will be greatly appreciated.
