Govind Mangabhai Patel, 61 years old passed away November 14, 2016. He was the loving husband of Maniben Patel for 41 years. He was born in Tanzania, a son of the late Mangabhai and Sitaben Patel. He is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Amish and Srey Patel of Johnston and son, Krupesh Patel of Providence, and his granddaughter Grace.
He also leaves four sisters, Gita M. Patel of California, Aruna M. Patel of Texas, Pushpa Patel of England and Kamu Patel of India and brother, Suryakant Patel of Texas. He was the father of the late Jiganesh Patel.
Mr. Patel was a college graduate with a degree in business administration. He was self employed and operated several different types of retail businesses. He was a kind, friendly and open-hearted man. He had a passion for watching cricket, good food, and lavishing attention on his granddaughter, Grace. He will be sorely missed by his family and many friends.
A Hindu Funeral Rite will be held Saturday, November 19th at 10 AM in the Chapel of Memory & Hope at Swan Point Cemetery, 585 Blackstone Boulevard, Providence. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
