Bernice was 60 yrs old and was married to Wainwright (Wayne) Shelton her devoted husband and they lived in Pawtucket, RI.  Bernice was born in Dothan Alabama on March 26, 1956 to the late Christell (Brown) Stanley and to the late Hayward Stanley.  In her previous years of employment Bernice touched the lives of many women in the local communities as a breast cancer advocate outreach specialist for Women’s Health Act at the YWCA in Providence, RI.  Bernice loved her family, enjoyed traveling, and was a great cook who brought many together for a good Sunday home cooked dinner. She was the loving mother of four children; her beloved daughter Naomi Stanley, Central Falls, RI, son Brian Stanley, Pawtucket, RI and late sons Jerome Stanley and Fredrick Stanley. Bernice was a maternal mother to; son-in-law Derek Ruffin; son Robert Williams; maternal daughters Michelle Santos & Natasha Butler and many others. She leaves loving memories and a host of beautiful grandchildren; maternal daughter and goddaughter Yalissa Almedia 21; Briana Valcourt 17; Bailey Smith 15; Daviyon Butler 15; Jenaia Stanley 13; grandsons Keshawn Stanley 12, Drake Stanley 7; Walter Stanley 2 .  Bernice was the fourth of eight siblings.  One brother Carl Stanley, Utica, NY; six sisters; Bobbie Brown, St. Petersburg, FL; Mary (Hendricks) Stanley, North Providence, RI; Martha Stanley & Rena Stanley, Providence, RI; Angie Simpson & brother-in Law, Calvin J. Simpson Jr., New Castle, DE; and the late Frankie Rucker of Cincinnati OH. Bernice was loved by a host of aunts uncles, nieces & nephews.  The sudden loss of Bernice is heartfelt by all of her family, friends, and loved ones.  Bernice was a mother to so many and friends became family. Bernice was everyone’s mom and her door was always open.  She lovingly encouraged everyone that God brought into her life; and she boldly proclaimed the gospel touching so many lives while planting many seeds of salvation. Special acknowledgement to loving friends Beverly Scott, Doreen Bliss Smith (loving caretakers), Maureen Carter, Barbara Dublin, and the late Michelle Lopes.
