Cielo Esther Anibal-Oquendo, also known by her family as "la Poly", 71 years old of Cumberland, passed away peacefully of natural causes, surrounded by her loving family, on April 14th, 2024. She was born in Barranquilla, Colombia on May 3rd, 1952. She moved to the United States in July of 1986 with her husband and children.
She worked at Murdock Webbing Inc. for most of her young life. She was a woman of dignity, strength, discipline and strong character. She enjoyed her time with her family and friends. She remembered everyone's birthday. She had an amazing green thumb and an animallover through and through. She was the disciplinarian of all aunts, but her nieces and nephews loved that about her. She was always attentive to the well being of her family here in the United States and back home in Colombia.
She is survived by her husband Alberto R. Anibal, son, Alois Anibal, daughter Karen Anibal, granddaughters Savannah, Aliana, Giselle and grandson Aiden. She also leaves, 2 sisters, Leda Oquendo of New York and Diana Anaya of Colombia; brothers, Enrique Oquendo and Franklin Oquendo of New York, Filiberto and Fernando Oquendo of Lincoln, RI, Jose Luis and Hermes Oquendo of Pawtucket, RI, and Hugo Anaya of Colombia. She was predeceased by 2 sisters, Leonor and Teresa Anaya, brothers, Saul Anaya, Valmiro and Albert o Oquendo
She will be greatly missed and always remembered.
Calling Hours, are Friday evening April 19th, from 5 until 8 PM in the Coelho Home, Central Falls. A Funeral Prayer Service will be held on Saturday morning, April 20th at 10 AM in the Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Mt. St. Mary's Cemetery. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
